Traffic Consolidate

Merge source-name variants into stable reporting aliases.

Updated 9 August 2026

Stop source-name variants fragmenting reports

Traffic Consolidate maps several raw source values to one stable reporting alias. It is useful when the same provider arrives as values such as facebook, fb and facebook_ads, or when a connector changes its source naming over time.

Consolidation keeps one acquisition source from being split across several rows and reduces the number of spelling variants that Channel rules need to handle. It changes the reporting grouping in Incendium; it does not rename data in the originating platform.

Create a consolidated source

Incendium Source Consolidation workflow with documentation-safe source names
Select raw values on the left; review and remove existing group members on the right.

Select the source variants

In Sources, select the values that represent the same underlying source.

Choose Consolidate

Select Consolidate and give the grouping the stable alias that should appear in reporting.

Review the group

The alias appears under Consolidated Sources. Expand it to see the raw values assigned to it.

Understand the controls

Hide merged

Removes values already assigned to a consolidated source from the left list, making ungrouped variants easier to find.

Consolidate

Combines the selected raw source values beneath one reporting alias.

Remove

Detaches selected members from an existing consolidated grouping. It does not delete the underlying source activity.

Do not consolidate values merely because their names look similar. Paid, organic, affiliate and partner traffic can require separate treatment even when they originate from the same brand.
